I should've guessed that our first broken bone would belong to our little monkey!! As the poem goes, Chase was jumping on his bed when he face planted it into the chair rail going around his room. My first cause of alarm was the blood gushing everywhere from his mouth and nose!! One we got the bleeding under control, I noticed that his nose was crooked and swelling. Of course he had to get hurt on a holiday, so we had to take him to the emergency room. When we got there some of the swelling had gone down and he was so hyper. I felt like I had totally over reacted. I'm sure many mom's out there know the feeling I am talking about! Anyway, the doctor said he didn't think it was broken, but that we should probably do a x-ray just to be safe. Well, the longer we waited, the more hyper Chase got. The more hyper Chase got the dumber I felt for being there. The doctor finally came in and confirmed that his nose was broken, but that we wouldn't be able to really do anything about it until his teen years when his nose started to develop more. If all goes well, we won't have to do any corrective surgery when he gets older!! Anyway, the picture isn't very good, but he has a fat lip on the right side of his mouth, looking at the picture, and the right side of his nose is higher than the other. It is also swollen. If you can't see it in the picture, just take it from someone who looks at his cute little face everyday. So as we were leaving the ER the doctor said, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!!" I'm not just being clever, he really said that!

My baby!! It does look swollen and crooked. Poor kid!
Oh dear! Poor Chasers. Hey...wait a minute...I thought Kitties always land on their feet!?!?! No?
Oh no!!! Poor Chase! Shelly.. You are in for it when he gets older. He has absolutely no FEAR. Just be prepared for more broken bones in the future. Even though he is swollen and crooked, He still looks like an absolute ANGEL.
Love you...
Hang in there,
Sissa
