After several weeks of begging, I finally got the courage to put on my maternity swimsuit and take the kids to the swimming pool. Chase has finally warmed up to the idea of actually having fun in the water, and Kaden, who is a fish, was on cloud nine! We were so excited that Rawlin was able to come with us this time.
The Sacrifice!!
Chase drowning Rawlin and loving every minute of it!
My bathing beauty!
My little fish!
When opportunity knocks, you don't ignore it!! Nice farmer's tan Rawls!!
Totally worn out! What a long day!
Thanks boys for a really fun day!

Our first broken bone
I should've guessed that our first broken bone would belong to our little monkey!! As the poem goes, Chase was jumping on his bed when he face planted it into the chair rail going around his room. My first cause of alarm was the blood gushing everywhere from his mouth and nose!! One we got the bleeding under control, I noticed that his nose was crooked and swelling. Of course he had to get hurt on a holiday, so we had to take him to the emergency room. When we got there some of the swelling had gone down and he was so hyper. I felt like I had totally over reacted. I'm sure many mom's out there know the feeling I am talking about! Anyway, the doctor said he didn't think it was broken, but that we should probably do a x-ray just to be safe. Well, the longer we waited, the more hyper Chase got. The more hyper Chase got the dumber I felt for being there. The doctor finally came in and confirmed that his nose was broken, but that we wouldn't be able to really do anything about it until his teen years when his nose started to develop more. If all goes well, we won't have to do any corrective surgery when he gets older!! Anyway, the picture isn't very good, but he has a fat lip on the right side of his mouth, looking at the picture, and the right side of his nose is higher than the other. It is also swollen. If you can't see it in the picture, just take it from someone who looks at his cute little face everyday. So as we were leaving the ER the doctor said, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!!" I'm not just being clever, he really said that!

I hope all of you are sitting down!!
Now I'm sure some of you after hearing this will be looking up at the sky to see if pigs are flying, and I don't want any comments from the peanut gallery! (That includes you Haley!!) We have a new addition to our family. I'd like to introduce you to Jesse!
I know that Jesse looks like the sick cow that Donald tries to eat in Mickey and the Beanstalk, but she really isn't that sickly looking! Anyway, she is our new milk cow. We will start milking her when she calves in a month or so. Now, don't think I have gone totally country yet. I told Rawlin I wouldn't milk her, and I don't have chickens, so we have a little way to go yet!

Happy Birthday Buddy!
My baby turned 2 yesterday and i am totally heartbroken!! I really have to get out of the habit of calling him my baby because he's getting too old for that! Even though he is such a monkey, and we question some times if he has multiple personality disorder because of his severe mood swings, he is such a special addition to our family. He NEVER stops!!! We call him "Hurricane Chase" because he LOVES to follow behind me and mess up everything I just cleaned! Along with his out of control energy level, the kid is so funny! He thrives on making us laugh. We are so grateful to have him in our family. Happy Birthday Buddy!

Introducing.........Kaden!!
I have been trying to post this video FOREVER!! After dealing with SEVERAL difficulties I finally got it to work. This is Kaden's solo singing debut! He was singing for the Miss 4th of July Pageant (I know small towns!) Anyway, he then sang later at the Manti firework show on the 4th. We were so proud of him. He did even better the second time! At the beginning of the song he dedicated it to his dad, who is his hero! While Rawlin was gone, Kaden would put on his earphones and just wail out "God Bless the USA". I would sneak by his door and listen to his little twang singing about standing up for Freedom with heroes like his dad! I would Bawl every time. So even though he is really nervous, and doesn't put as much soul in it as he usually does, I can't think of a kid who is more dedicated to the message of this song than he is! So, without further ado, Introducing......Kaden!

The Moments That Make It Worth It!!
I'm sure like many of you out there, the most common sound I hear is kids fighting. I think my main job is to be a ref between the kids. Most of the time Kaden is innocently pushing Chase's buttons, and Chase is just 2 and solves everything with violence and yelling!! However, every once in a while I hear them playing with each other, laughing hysterically and it makes me so happy. Today was one of those days. It fighting started bright and early. Kaden was trying to clean his room and had his door closed so that hurricane Chase wouldn't undo everything he was doing. Then there was Chase outside kicking the door and yelling, "No Kaden" at the top of his lungs! When Kade finally came out, Chase grabbed his finger and said, "Kaden, story." When I looked in Chase's room this is what I found......
It's days like this that help me remember the reason I wanted to have kids in the first place! Kaden is such a good big brother. He is a lot more patient than I would be if I got hit as often as he does!! Let's just hope that Chase mellows out a bit on the violence before this baby gets here!!
